Introducing 10 New Year's Bazaars and Markets in Belgrade

Belgrade is well-known as a destination in Europe where spending time during the New Year's period offers more than all expectations. This year, like never before, New Year's and Christmas events are a specialty of the city's offer. Markets, bazaars, fairs and festive gastronomic events are designed so that every visitor will become a serious fan of the holiday magic. We present 10 events in Belgrade where the end of the year is celebrated in a special, almost festival-like way.

1. Winter Fairy Tale

Belgrade Waterfront, the place where the Winter Fairy Tale is held every day until 5th January, is a destination that, according to regular visitors, irresistibly reminds us of Vienna and the famous Christmas spectacle. Every day, throughout the day and evening, various events are held, mostly for children. The idyllic decoration counts 150,000 New Year's lights. The whole concept is impressive. Just like the program. An outdoor ice rink, concerts, DJs, workshops, lectures, film screenings, children's shows and much more are regularly realized. Visitors have the opportunity to taste a diverse range of food and drinks. The location where the most photos are probably taken is open until 5th January.

2. New Year's Bazaar in Silosi

Authentic city energy, a special selection of leading domestic exhibitors, a great charity event, lots of great music and even more hugs and smiles are what you need, and it will be in Silosi Belgrade on 21st and 22nd December from 14:00 to 20:00.

When asked what to buy for New Year's and Christmas, the answer lies in the offer of the New Year's Bazaar in Silosi. The ideal little thing or an incredible gift can be found in the offer of as many as 47 exhibitors. Plan your shopping so that there is enough for your gift list, but also for the children from Kosovo and Metohija who need a lot. A peaceful life is surely in every letter to Santa Claus from children from this part of Serbia.

The Silosi Cultural Center and the organization "All for Kosmet" are organizing a collection of sweets, snacks, toys and monetary donations for children in Kosovo and Metohija. 3. New Year's Fair at the Belgrade Fair

The 62nd New Year's Fair traditionally represents a New Year's-style party that everyone looks forward to. The largest indoor amusement park in this part of Europe will be open to visitors until 30th December, and its opening hours are from 12:00 to 20:00 every day.

Carousels, slides, ferris wheel, house of fear, autodrome, specially equipped playrooms for the youngest children equipped with interactive toys, creative workshops, animators, magicians, costumed heroes from fairy tales and cartoons are eager to convey the holiday euphoria to every visitor.

An offer of souvenirs, decorations, toys and other products awaits you at the decorated stalls. The gastro corner offers tastings of traditional holiday sweets and hot drinks.

4. Belgrade Night Market

The last Belgrade Night Market of 2024 will be held on Friday, 20th December from 18:00 to 24:00 at Bajloni Market or Skadarlija, as you prefer. DJ Bege Fank will play top music, and it's up to you to bring your best mood. The offer on the stalls will be, as always, absolutely original. Every product is handmade, from delicacies and various meat products to cosmetics, jewelry, drinks, and New Year's decorations.

5. Vuk's Christmas Corner

For the third year in a row, new holiday magic. Pure love for holiday decorations is the inspiration for the creation of this New Year and Christmas oasis. This is the first store of this type in the city and definitely one of the few where you can feel a strong emotion towards every decoration and lamp. It is now located at 17 Bulevar kralja Aleksandra, in the immediate vicinity of St. Mark's Church. Opening hours are from 10:00 to 22:00 every day.

When you step into the interior that resembles a Christmas movie masterpiece, the first thing you say is a long wow! The impressive collection of Christmas tree decorations and the entire space are the result of a search by renowned manufacturers from Poland, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Greece and the Netherlands. The offer also includes exclusive hand-woven ribbons from India, but what takes your breath away is the decoration in the space itself and as many as 25,000 stars twinkling in Vuk's Christmas sky.

Come and have tea or hot chocolate in an atmosphere where everyone becomes a joyful child. Of course, there are specially decorated sweets as well.

6. Street Food Festival Vracarac

The well-known festival of premium quality fast food flavors is coming to the corner of Kursulina and Krunska Streets, right next to Kalenic Market. From 20th to 22nd December, they will serve favorite snacks and portions of food from all over the world in New Year's style. The festive atmosphere will be enhanced by the music of numerous DJs and an authentic city vibe. As special as always, they have prepared a gastronomic list that no gourmet will be able to resist. Mulled wine, mulled gin, powerful rhythm and unrivaled flavors will be available from 13:00 to 23:00 during the three days of the festival.

Cooperation with the Every Can Counts project ensures environmental protection during these holidays. This festival uses exclusively aluminum packaging because it is fully recyclable. Always think about the planet, even while you are waiting for Santa Claus.

7. New Year's Night of Taste at Palilula Market

On Friday, 27th December from 18:00 to 22:00, a festive party for all generations will be held at the most modern market in the city. The beginning of the New Year's gathering is reserved for a musical performance for children from 16:30. This is followed by the distribution of packages from Santa Claus, as gifts have been prepared by the Public Utility Company of Belgrade Markets and Stark, and then the party for adults will start, which will last until 22:00.

This is the right moment to shop for groceries for the New Year's and Christmas dinners and to do your last-minute gift shopping. A big gathering with an adequate music program is an excellent choice for spending the last Friday of the year.

8. Vracar Bazaar

Still among the stalls! This time at the Kalenic Market. The last Baazar of this year in Vracar is scheduled from 27th to 29th December from 09:00 to 16:00. Experienced exhibitors will bring exactly what you need during this period: homemade honey, homemade bacon, homemade strudel with poppy seeds, raspberries, blueberries, brandy, pork cracklings and other flavors without which a holiday feast is unthinkable. Handmade cosmetics for cold days are the best. Handmade toys are suitable from the first days. All this and much more is coming to Vracar.

9. Fairy Tale Square

From 20th to 28th December, the Vuk Theater will be a zone for children's holiday entertainment. On the eve of the New Year and Christmas, the little ones will hang out with lots of fun, watch performances, attend educational workshops with a high-quality and inclusive program for children. The plateau in front of the Vuk Theater will become a magical idyll for the youngest during the interesting and educational program called Fairy Tale Square. Admission to the entire event is free.

10. New Year's Special Concerts on Zidic

The Youth Center is celebrating 60 years of work in the current year, and for the last Saturday of the year, 28th December, it is organizing a hard blues and rock sound. The Monday Blues Band opens the concert at 14:00. The Cotton Pickers take the stage at 14:45, and the Vlada Jet Band begins playing at 15:30. The Milan Mladenovic Plateau is a place where the audience will listen to live music completely free of charge.
